The IPN is executing the external evaluation of the Mastering Math project which was started by Dortmund University. From 2014 to 2017 the implementation project professionalizes teachers in forstering low achieving students in the beginning of German secondary schools (grade 5 and 6). In NRW, 40 secondary schools (except gymnasiums) take part with 4,300 students.
