In the past years in Germany and in other German-speaking countries, several programs and projects dealt with the professional development of active teachers or students in teacher education. The programs enhanced evaluation and scientific programs which investigated with different strategies and methods the effects of the trainings. The publications includes papers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It presents various examples from this expanding research area which is still developing. The book adresses Poeple interested in the improvement of schools and teaching as well as researchers, (academic) teachers, students and people employed in ministeries and institutes for inservice-training.
